92. Brothers and Sisters Fulfilled Together
Context:
The sisters recently concluded their inspiring October 2015 "Women's Conference". The brothers subsequently conducted their "Priesthood Conference". All joined to be instructed in the General Conference of October 4 and 5.
The brothers were instructed as to their Priesthood duties. The sisters were counseled as to their exercise of unique powers and gifts. The following came to me as I pondered how Deity seeks the union of one man and one women in temple marriage as both preface and preparation to share eternal life with Deity--not merely a quantum (life unending) but also a quality of life (God's life). Brothers and Sisters, I respectfully submit that the Lord's anointed ask us to think less of our individual powers (Priesthood and Keys/Sisterhood and creation) and earn, together, God's greatest gift--life with Deity in the highest degree of the Celestial Kingdom.
Brothers and Sisters Fulfilled Together
A Priesthood Brother Speaks:
We wish that you could know the joy
That comes from being born a boy,
And feel the powers that Heaven employs,
God’s glorious work to do!
A Relief Society Sister Replies:
We wish that you could know the thrill
That comes from being born a girl,
And know creation’s call fulfilled,
God’s glorious work to do!
Deity Counsels:
We wish you both will come to see,
How you, together, came to be,
To seek our joy eternally,
Our glorious work to do!
For neither one should be alone,
Nor either one should dare postpone,
The chance to earn eternal thrones,
When our glorious work is through!
Kneeling at a Wedding Alter, a Couple Covenants:
We did not know nor could we say
The joy that we have found this day,
As we have pledged together to stay
Thy glorious work to do!
Their Future Children Shall Honor Them:
Dear Father, you were not complete,
Until our Mother you would meet,
And promised at God’s angels' feet,
His glorious work to do!
Dear Mother, you have blessed our days,
By teaching us of Jesus' ways,
And, evermore, we'll sing your praise,
God's glorious work to do!
