21. As Voices Join in Sacred Sabbath Worship
I
As voices join in sacred Sabbath worship,
We set aside our worldly works and cares.
With heart-felt need, we pray for Jesus’ mercy
And beg He send His sweet forgiveness here.
We seek the grace of He who died to save us
And humbly plead that He our sins will bear.
2
As fasting guides our thoughts and hearts t’ward heaven,
The Spirit brings the Father’s plan to view.
Sweet is the comfort of this dear companion,
Who whispers soft the gospel’s saving truths.
Our prayers rise up, as on the wings of angels,
And by His stripes our souls are healed anew.
3
As we partake of emblems of our Savior,
This little cup and bit of blessed bread,
We are reminded of the tender mercy
Of He who first rose from the dead.
And we give thanks to Him, Our Lord and Master,
And meekly ask that by Him we be led.
4
As we give voice to sacred testimonies,
We join as one in witness of our Lord.
Heart speaks to heart with gratitude for blessings,
Received through trust on Christ’s redeeming Word.
We strive to share our faith and our salvation
That ev’ry soul may join in His reward.
