38. Prayer for a Caring Granddaughter
Around the world we thought each day
Of our cherished mother far away.
Whose pains and cares we could not share,
Save through a loved one’s service there.
Bless Thou these hands of tender care,
Who labored long to serve her there.
Those hands, like His from Galilee,
Have rendered service unto Thee.
With sweet compassion she would cheer,
With visits, calls, a presence near.
And thus each day our mother knew
Her family’s love was sure and true.
Bless Thou this heart so filled with love,
Thy gift and blessing from above.
This heart, so kind, that never ceased,
To render aid and give her peace.
Now, having earned eternal rest,
Enduring well this mortal test,
Our mother knows full well her love,
And seeks to bless her from above.
Bless Thou this servant every day,
Who never ceased to work and pray,
That mother's life be full and free,
Until Thou called her unto Thee.
