58. Growing Up
As a child, I heard the stories,
As a youth, I read the words,
And the Spirit bore me witness,
Of the truth that I had heard.
How the Father sent His Firstborn,
To both feel, and heal, our pain,
In the Garden, and upon the Cross,
He honored Father’s name.
But only in my later years,
Have I come to feel a need,
For the cleansing blood of Jesus,
To pay for my misdeeds.
I regret the pain I’ve caused Him.
And I’ve come to feel great shame,
For the sins that I committed,
After I had learned His name,
And the mission that had sent Him,
By the Father’s perfect love,
To bleed for me, from every pore,
And plead for me above.
Through His prophets and apostles,
Who have labored with their lives,
That by every word and act and thought,
I’d come to seek and strive,
To follow my dear Savior,
Who had died to save my soul,
And still, I feel, that up above,
He pleads to make me whole,
To a Father who would care so much,
He sent His only Son.
With faith that Christ would do His will,
So that He could become,
A father to those who believe,
And follow what He’s done.

Ether 3:14
"Behold, I am he who was prepared from the foundation of the world to redeem my people. Behold, I am Jesus Christ. I am the Father and the Son. In me shall all mankind have life, and that eternally, even they who shall believe on my name; and they shall become my sons and my daughters. ”
