33. "Daughter, Hear and
Heed Your Savior's Voice" So long ago you heard His voice, Then cast your vote with God's first Son. Endowed with faith from righteous choice, With Father's might, a battle won. Oh wondrous gift, this plan of love, Whereby each soul has mortal life. You left a holy home above, To face the tests of sin and strife. Daughter, hear the voice of He Who gave His life, who would forgive. Recall your vows made at His knee-- His gifts you'd share, His comfort give. Lovely daughter, virtue's crown, Share His true gospel with your kin. Valiant child of birth renowned, Cast out all doubt, His praise to win. Lovely daughter, noble child, Listen to your Savior's voice As infants in a mortal home, Your parents sought their Father’s aid. To raise His children as their own, With trembling hearts they daily prayed: "Grant them grace for every hour, Keep them from error, guide their path. Save each from temptation's power, That each one earn all that Thou hath." Daughter, hear the voice of He Who gave His life that you might live. The Father heard your parents' plea, And through His Son, His strength did give. Lovely daughter, virtue's crown, Share His true gospel with your kin. Valiant child of birth renowned, Forsake the world, and glory win. Lovely daughter, noble child, Heed your Savior's loving voice. Now other voices join the din, And strive to lead you from the right. An enemy your soul would win-- Your faith he'd crush in fear's bleak night. To brave these storms, you must recall That Voice you heard so long ago. With humble heart you must seek all The courage that Christ will bestow. Daughter, hear the voice of He Who gave His life, as you must give. Recall the purity of Eve, And Mary's faith; Ruth's will to live. Lovely daughter, virtue's crown, Share His true gospel with your kin. Valiant child of birth renowned, Embrace His word, a throne to win. Lovely daughter, noble child, Seek each day your Savior's voice. Today, your own must find the path, Of virtue undefiled by greed. If you would see their garments cleansed, His endless patience you will need. Behold, His light's millennial rays, Invite you take a grander view. And as you serve Him all your days, The world around, saints serve Him too. Daughter, hear the voice of He Whose servants call you to the fight. To preach His word, you came to be.
