82. I Am a Witness* of Your Worth
(We shall call him John. We shall call her Mary. Jesus calls them blessed.)
A Brother Witnesses for John
I have not known you through all years,
And, yet, your heart is known to me.
I’ve felt your sorrows and your tears,
Your passion for our liberties.
When I had doubts, you calmed my fears,
And when I sorrowed, you were there.
Thus, in due time, at the end of years,
I shall proclaim how much you cared--
I am a witness of your worth.
A Sister Witnesses for Mary
I know your charity and grace,
I saw your love for Father’s Son.
Your love suffused both soul and face,
Despite the need to overcome.
Dear Sister, we have shared a faith,
Which mortal cares cannot undo.
So, in due time, your praise I’ll sing,
For all the good in life you do.
I am a witness of your worth.
The Savior Affirms The Witnesses
I came to Earth in Father’s plan,
To heal the sick; mend broken hearts.
Imperfect souls receive my grace,
As they display gifts I impart.
Be not discouraged by your needs--
You persevered, when others failed.
Beloved, you shall live with me,
As friends and heirs beyond the veil.
I am a witness of your worth.
