2. My Choice Companions in the Lord
2. My Choice Companions in the Lord
In ages past, so lacking light,
The meek and humble once combined.
To serve the Lord, and do the right,
With honor pledged, they sought Christ’s mind.
Today, new soldiers have appeared
To raise the ensign of the just.
They share their brothers’ trials and fears,
And live to keep God's sacred trust.
So hard they battle sin’s dark night,
Their words and works deserve reward.
I praise these servants of the Light,
My choice companions in the Lord.
How strange that He who knew no sin,
Should chance to choose so weak a reed,
To labor with such faithful men,
To help a troubled world in need.
I pray for worthiness within,
That I can match their stalwart hearts.
I pray each day, as well, for them,
That these He’ll bless, His peace impart.
Look close, with Spirit’s sight, and see
Their service made at such a cost.
Kneel at their side and feel with me
Their love for those both hurt and lost.
O, precious earth, Thy Father’s gem!
A fitting footstool for Thy Sire.
If we but lived and loved like them,
There would be naught but He’d admire.
So join us now from every land--
Seek those forsaken and alone.
Protect and feed Christ's precious lambs,
And bring them, joyfully, back home.
Then when He comes with Heaven’s might,
To cleanse the earth with Spirit’s sword.
He’ll call His servants of the Light,
The choice companions of their Lord.

Doctrine & Covenants 84:106-110
“And if any man among you be strong in the Spirit, let him take with him that is weak, that he may be edified in all meekness, that he may become strong also.
Therefore, take with you those who are ordained unto the lesser priesthood, and send them before you to make appointments, and to prepare the way, and to fill appointments that you yourselves are not able to fill.
Behold, this is the way that mine apostles, in ancient days, built up my church unto me. 109. Therefore, let every man stand in his own office, and labor in his own calling; and let not the head say unto the feet it hath no need of the feet; for without the feet how shall the body be able to stand?
Also the body hath need of every member, that all may be edified together, that the system may be kept perfect.”
3 Nephi 18:24
"Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world. Behold I am the light which ye shall hold up—that which ye have seen me do."
