6. Who Will Dare for Christ
I
(It is fall in Argentina as two Elders bike to their next visit.)
We ride the barrios in the rain,
Clothes streaked with mud and rust.
Some curious children call our names,
They smile and wave at us.
They don’t recall, not long ago,
They lived with us, above,
And witnessed how we vowed to come,
And teach them of Christ’s love.
We gladly greet all in the street,
Truth’s hunger in their eyes.
Our spinning wheels seem to repeat,
With questions for our lives.
Who will dare, who will dare, who will dare, for Christ?
Who will share, who will share, share His sacrifice?
Who will care, who will care, who will care, like Him?
Who can bear, who can bear, bear alone their sin?
II
(Thousands of miles away, African Elders stop to meet and testify.)
There are few cars, and we have walked
This hot and hungry land.
Some thirsting brothers stop to talk,
They yearn to understand.
Their huts are made of straw and clay,
With bits of wood and tin.
Upon their floors’ rough earth we lay,
Our prayers rise deep within.
No flies nor heat prevent our sleep,
They come as no surprise.
But village drums sound haunting beats,
With questions for our lives.
Who will dare, who will dare, who will dare, for Christ?
Who will share, who will share, share His sacrifice?
Who will care, who will care, who will care, like Him?
Who can bear, who can bear, bear alone their sin?
III
(We next travel to Montana. Seasons have changed and two Sisters engage in a farm service project.)
In early spring we come to greet
These newborns to this earth.
We clean their shivering coats and feet,
Each lamb of wondrous worth.
We know our Shepherd loves to care
And feed all in His fold.
For as we work, we feel Him here,
Despite the dawn’s damp cold.
Above our heads, the skies don’t end,
And sunrise fills our eyes.
Unbroken vistas sound amen,
To questions for our lives.
Who will dare, who will dare, who will dare, for Christ?
Who will share, who will share, share His sacrifice?
Who will care, who will care, who will care, like Him?
Who can bear, who can bear, bear alone their sin?
IV
(Throughout the world, Elders, Sisters, and Couples serve the
Savior by serving His children.)
In every land where we may stand,
We witness Jesus lives.
Each day we strive to be His hands,
And share the peace He gives.
To Christ our King, for old or young,
One color fills each heart.
So everywhere, in every tongue,
His gospel we impart.
Until the time that He will say,
“My blessed shall arise,”
We answer as we work and pray,
These questions for our lives.
Who will dare, who will dare, who will dare, for Christ?
Who will share, who will share, share His sacrifice?
Who will care, who will care, who will care, like Him?
Who can bear, who can bear, bear alone their sin?

Doctrine and Covenants Section 4
"Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.
"Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
"Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;
"For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;
"And faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work.
"Remember faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, diligence.
"Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen.
